I.ARE.H was created in 2001 as the successor to the Centre for Agricultural Medicine, Canada's only organization devoted to health issues in agriculture. Based at Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital at the University of Saskatchewan, the institute provides a comprehensive approach to education, research, and service to the people in rural Saskatchewan and Canada. Water is one issue considered by the Institute.

The National Water Research Institute (NWRI) is Canada's preeminent freshwater research facility, the largest in the country with centres in Burlington, Ontario and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. NWRI extends its influence across Canada and beyond, leading world-class research on freshwater issues.

AAFC-PFRA applies its expertise in the biological, geological and engineering disciplines to ensure secure supplies of water, good water quality and water infrastructure on the Prairies. A wide range of information and services are available.
