Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council
The Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council is a non-profit organization striving to promote waste reduction to all sectors of the province. Our recycling database will provide you with a list of organizations in your community that will recycle or reuse various materials. We have tried wherever possible to include details about hours of operation, minimum quantities accepted and desirable condition of recyclable materials. When these details are not shown, contact the recycler directly.Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment Recycling Page

Destination Conservation
A better planet begins in the classroom.
Destination Conservation Saskatchewan (DCS) is a practical, student-driven, activity-based program that brings environmental education alive in our schools. Students, teachers, principals, custodians and parents cooperate in this three-year, inquiry-based program. DCS helps students do real work for their school to identify conservation opportunities. The student leadership team works to help change consumption habits in the school community. The program focus is on saving energy, conserving water and reducing waste.Contact info:

The CNYC is a community centre where youth from Saskatoon's core neighbourhoods have the opportunity to become involved in economic ventures with co-operative and environmental themes. In the last year, the youth of CNYC have earned thousands of dollars through their work building compost bins, growing organic produce and banding trees. Any youth aged 10 - 21 who wants to do construction, crafts, bicycle repair, gardening, sewing, or other activities is welcome to come to the Youth Coop Mondays to Thursdays between 3:30 and 5:30, meet other youth, staff and volunteers, and get involved.
The CNYC also partners with schools in the community to offer classes and individuals the opportunity to use the facilities and partner on projects such as building compost bins, worm composters, benches, tables, cleaning toys, and other activities. Call Rob or Nancy at 665-3889 for more information.
